Here are a few Washington events of note for Wednesday, July 30.
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is holding a hearing on the electrical systems at U.S. facilities in Iraq.
President Bush is meeting with his Cabinet.
Congress' Joint Economic Committee is holding a hearing on how energy efficiency programs can reduce the dependence on foreign oil.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing on politicized hiring at the Justice Department.
