Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound

One of America's largest indoor waterparks is right here in Western Washington.
It’s the Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound near Centralia.

Great Wolf Lodge is off of I-5, south of Olympia. It’s open all year round.

The lodge is an indoor oasis where you can enjoy 84 degree weather even when it's raining outside.

Inside the 60,000 square foot, 8 story high water park is a 1000 gallon tipping bucket!

There are five waterslides, two tube slides, two body slides, a wave pool, hot tub, and, the granddaddy of them all, the howlin tornado!

Whether you want to be splashed, sprayed, or just swim, you’ll still be safe and supervised. At any given time, there are 20 lifeguards on duty.

There are nearly 400 hotel rooms right on site to accommodate your family.

Communications Director John Poole says the Great Wolf is priced for families on a budget. Rooms begin at $179.00 a night, but that also includes 4 passes to the Waterpark itself.

Poole says, “the nice thing is, the rooms come with mini bars, coffee machines and things like that so you can bring a lot of your own food into the room. And again, eating at the hotel is second to none here.”

There are 3 restaurants so you don't have to pack the kids back into the car to grab a bite to eat.

There's an arts and crafts center, tech center, even a big arcade and teen nightclub to keep the kids entertained and at the end of the day, if mom and dad need a getaway for themselves, you can book yourself into the elements spa for a massage, body treatment or manicure.

I've been to Suncadia, and boy you really wrapped it up. It is as great a place as you say, and you're right you can get there on a tank of gas.
